Mental Health Movement’s team of subject matter experts will use practical examples and scenarios coupled with the latest research and best-practice advice to educate and support you on your psychosocial awareness journey.
It is law across Australian States and Territories that businesses must be managing psychosocial hazards just like they do for physical hazards. As businesses seek to comply with the law, our psychosocial awareness presentation is a simple and effective way to up-skill your entire workforce on the ‘ins and outs’ of psychosocial hazards and risks.
The mental health continuum and the bio-psycho-social model are used to understand our mental health and the things that affect it. We also explain why it is important to care about the mental health of workers – focusing on legislative, economic and moral/ social reasons.
The Work Health and Safety Legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice for Psychosocial risks are compared across the different jurisdictions and the roles and responsibilities for all persons within a business are described such as the Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU), Officers, Health and Safety Representatives, Workers and Visitors.
Psychosocial hazards are explained at a high-level including how they are related to work-related stress and our mental and physical health. A scenario-based activity gives you an opportunity to think more deeply about the hazards and apply your learning.
The 4-step risk management process (Identify, Assess, Control and Review) is applied to managing psychosocial hazards and a number of control measures that can be used to reduce the risks are discussed.
