about the KOKODA experience

The Mental Health Movement’s Optimise Me Kokoda Trekking Adventure is a unique and
exhilarating adventure designed to provide a platform to become the best you

Renowned as one of the most challenging and rewarding trekking experiences, the Kokoda Track in Papuan New Guinea stretches 96km through the jungle of the Owen Stanley ranges. The track also carves its way through Australia's military history in the Pacific, begun when Japanese forces landed in Papua on the 21st July 1942.

On this unforgettable physical and emotional journey, Dan Hunt and adventure specialist David Armstrong will lead trekkers as they follow the path of the Australian soldiers who halted the advance of the Japanese Imperial Army, whilst taking part in the unique Mental Health Movement Optimise Me program. This is a truly unique adventure of history and self-discovery like no other.
